Written by Emma Freeman Whenever you go to war in your own land against the enemy who is hostile to you, you are to sound short blasts of alarm. Then you will be remembered before Adonai your God and be delivered from your enemies. Numbers 10:9 On Yom Teruah (Numbers 29:1) we gathered at Eastgate to seek God to give us the city of Leeds for His Kingdom. We brought trumpets & a shofar to make declarations to the authorities and principalities in the spirit realms. We fight in His strength & go in His victory (Proverbs 21:31). If a shofar alarm sounds in a city, will people not tremble? If there is calamity in a city, has not Adonai caused it? For the Lord Adonai, will do nothing, unless He has revealed His counsel to His servants the prophets. Amos 3:6-7 TLV - A call for clarity of hearing & seeing - the prophets & seers will know the plans of the Lord. “The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from one another on the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the shofar, join us there. Our God will fight for us!” Numbers 4:13-14 - A wake up call for the watchman to take their positions. if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? 1 Corinthians 14:8 NIV The sound needs to be loud, clear & in the right timing so that people will know the call is for them & what they are responding to - is it a war, or a wedding? Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? 1 Corinthians 14:6 NIV - A call for clear, pure teaching from His heart & His word. Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the pipe or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? 1 Corinthians 14:7 NIV - A call for clear, pure worship from our hearts to His alone. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church. 1 Corinthians 14:6-12 NIV - A call for unity & building up of the body. We worshiped with flags from Eastgate, down Briggate ending at the Corn Exchange. Our work felt done but inside was the icing on the cake - a piano for anyone to play! We worshiped and played a spirit led song to cleanse the atmosphere.
